December 14, 2011. “Russian Telecom Equipment Company” (RTEC) announced that it has joined the technological platform "Complex Security of Industry and Energy".  RTEC supported the platform developers - the Institute of Problems of Secure Development of Nuclear Energy of the Russian Academy of Science and the Kurchatov Research Institute.  As a part of the platform, RTEC will actively participate in scientific research and development of advanced technologies to enhance end-to-end security of mission-critical infrastructure.

 The platform has been set up to coordinate and focus development and resources (manufacturing, technological, financial, administrative, educational, etc.) aimed at improvement of the legislative base and standards in the area of end-to-end security of industry and energy, as well as development of new advanced technologies, products and services.  The platform includes more than 170 organizations.  It was also supported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Technical Supervision Agency, Ministry of Regional Development, Russian Academy of Science, State Corporations “Rosnano”, “Rostechnologii” and  “Rocatom”.

 RTEC is one of the Russian leaders in the area of complex security systems. The company implemented several large projects for the Russian government agencies and industrial enterprises. It uses the experience within various technological platforms and programs aimed at modernization of local infrastructure. RTEC is a part of the platform "Intelligent power system of Russia" set up in 2010 with support from the Federal Grid Company and the Russian Energy Agency. At the same time the company actively cooperates with daughter companies of the State Corporation “Rostechnologii” in the area of security systems for Russian and international markets. In the fall of 2011 RTEC announced cooperation with JSC “Rosoboronexport” in promoting complex automated security systems (CASS) in Latin America and South-East Asia.

 Technological platform is a form of public-private partnership in the sphere of innovations helping to join efforts of all stakeholders - various organizations, businesses, research communities - to reach common goals at strategic top priority directions. Technological platforms as an important element of innovation infrastructure are widely spread in Europe and in the U.S. The decision to set up technological platforms in Russia was taken in August 2010 by the government commission on high technologies and innovations headed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
