OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2011. Belarus’ OJSC Belsolod suspended operation Nov 14, 2011 to conduct retooling, a company representative told reporters.

The company invested in a EUR678,000 production line by Germany’s Schmidt-Seeger AG. The equipment has already been shipped and will be installed in December.

OJSC Belsolod is expected to resume operation in early January 2012.

Belsolod produced 115,233 tonnes of malt in January-October 2011, up 64.4% on the year.

The company exported 71,770 tonnes of malt (up 28.4%) worth USD 37.65 million.

Supplies to the domestic market hiked 62% to 40,462 tonnes.

Belsolod was established in 1989 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1996.
