Rostelecom Announces Launch of Uniform Federal Offer: Home Internet
OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2011. The merged Rostelecom has launched a federal offer for broadband Internet access – Home Internet, which is geared towards the mass segment of the market.
The main advantage of this new deal for customers all across the country is the ability to independently configure the necessary range of available service options based on the “interactive designer” principle, which makes it possible to flexibly manage expenses for telecom services.
A flexible way to select options allows each user to optimize Internet access speed, firewall devices, and also other functional capabilities depending on their personal needs and financial capabilities.
The key function of Rostelecom’s Home Internet is an option which provides users with unlimited Internet access speed at a comfortable speed. Customers can also ramp up their Internet connection speed several-fold, receive anti-virus software, a fixed IP address, and also many other options. Furthermore, the cost of services provided does not depend on the customer’s connection technology (ADSL, FTTX, GPON, etc.).
According to Vice-President and Commercial Director of Rostelecom Pavel Zaytsev, “this is another step by Rostelecom on the road towards transitioning to federal offers and streamlining the product line of the merged operator. Thanks to a flexible, yet simple and user-friendly system of additional options and their overall logic in relation to tariffs, the Company intends to dramatically bolster its positions in this market segment”. “By implementing the “interactive designer” principle for BIA, Rostelecom is laying the groundwork for including this “designer” and other services into options, including voice services, interactive television, etc.”, Pavel Zaytsev went on to say.
At present, the number of Rostelcom’s BIA subscribers is equal to 7.7 mln. According to Rostelecom’s development strategy, which was approved by the board of directors in May 2011, the Company plans to raise its market share of the wired BIA market to 50% by
