OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2011. Representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Communications had a working meeting at the Radio Research Union to discuss implementation of new broadband access radio-technologies in the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Participants included the Minister Igor Schegolyev; Deputy Minister Naum Marder; Director of Radio Research Institute, Valery Butenko; the Head of FAS, Igor Artemyev; Deputy Head of FAS, Anatoly Golomolzin; the Head of FAS Department for Control over Transport and Communications, Dmitry Rutenberg, and his Deputy Elena Zaeva.

Participants discussed, in particular, implementation of new BBA technologies in view of international experience, conversion of radio-frequency spectrum, technological neutrality, the quality of services.

Director of Radio Research Institute, Valery Butenko, demonstrated capacities of designing BBA networks using modern 3D make-ups in the real-time mode.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Communications will form a Working Group to prepare regulatory decisions in order to implement the basic principles of distributing radio-frequency spectrum for implementing BBA. The deadline for the Working Group is very tight: the task must be completed within two weeks.
