OREANDA-NEWS. December 13, 2011. SITRONICS (LSE:SITR), a leading provider of telecommunications, IT and microelectronics solutions in Russia and the CIS, announces that SITRONICS Microelectronics, its subsidiary company, has started supplying contactless RFID tickets to CPPK, a commuter passenger company which provides commuter train services for all lines on the Moscow Railway within Moscow and the Moscow region, reported the press-centre of SITRONICS.

The use of contactless tickets will reduce waiting times for passengers at ticket booths and turnstiles on traditionally busy railway lines. It will now take a little over one second for a passenger to pass through the turnstile. Moreover, contactless tickets offer greater security against forgery and damage compared to bar-code tickets, and they retain their usability even under adverse conditions (twisting, folding or short-term contact with water). It is guaranteed that information on these tickets will remain intact for no less than 5 years. It's also possible to use one side of the ticket for advertising, which will help achieve additional value from RFID cards.

"SITRONICS Microelectronics is the only company in Russia and the CIS that has a full production cycle for RFID cards and tags, which allows it to provide a high level of security and offer flexibility both for large-scale projects and small orders from private customers," commented Gennady Krasnikov, head of SITRONICS Microelectronic.

SITRONICS Microelectronics is the leading manufacturer of RFID cards and chip tags in Russia and the CIS with a production volume of about 300 million RFID cards a year. SITRONICS Microelectronics has a full production cycle for RFID tickets in place, from IC design to RFID manufacturing.
