OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2011. Baku Metro purchases new trains for operating on new third line.

Head of Baku Metro Tagi Ahmedov has stated that the new trains are planned for purchasing for late 2012.

" The new trains will be put on the new third line- Bus Station- Memar Ajemi as well as Hazi Aslanov- Old Guneshli- New Guneshli line ",- T. Ahmedov said.

In his words the exact number of trains to be purchased from Mtishi car building plant is still unknown.

" The new trains to  be put only on new third line at the first stage will be more modern, made from stainless material, equipped with air conditioners and are a little wider than presently operating trains. In future such coaches will also operate on the existing lines",- T. Ahmedov noted.
