Tata Power Trombay TPP Organises Security and Vigilance Week

The noble initiative started off on November 26, 2011, with two minutes silence in memory of all the innocent lives lost in the unfortunate incident. During the week, various security and vigilance programmes were conducted to spread awareness amongst employees, contractors, vendors and stakeholders of the Trombay plant.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Chourey, head, Trombay thermal generation station, said, “We at Tata Power extend our sympathies to all the families who have lost their loved ones in the 26/11 incident. The Security and Vigilance Week organised by our employees and stakeholders of the Trombay power station is a mark of respect and a tribute to all the lives lost during this unfortunate incident.”
A total of 1,923 employees, contractor’s staff and visitors participated and availed the benefit of these programmes during the Security and Vigilance Week. The various programmes and workshops focused on topics such as security at critical infrastructures, disaster management and business continuity, self-defence and general security awareness. The programmes were conducted by specialists and experts in the field and also included mock drills to make the sessions more interactive.

The company ensures a safe work environment for its employees by providing them with state-of-the-art training and sensitisation programmes. This initiative is in sync with this priority of providing vital information on security and vigilance.
