OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2011. Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation supported the position of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) on the case against “Angsterm” OJSC and “Smartronics Projects PTE” LTD, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier FAS discovered that “Angsterm” OJSC and “Smartronics Projects PTE” LTD. concluded an agreement restricting free consumption of the products of “Angsterm” OJSC found that the companies violated Parts 1 and 2 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The purpose of the restricting agreement was to prevent market entry of economic entities that use К5004VЕ1-017 micro-controllers to manufacture protected electronic control tape.

К5004VЕ1-017 micro-controllers constitute an inseparable element of protected electronic control tape mandatory to use in cash-register equipment in the Russian Federation. Currently the Federal Security Service certified only those modifications of protected electronic control tape that are based on К5004VЕ1-017 micro-controllers.

Absence of free access to К5004VЕ1-017 micro-controllers is a considerable barrier for entry of new potential manufacturers to the market of protected electronic control tape and its components.

“Such barriers restrain competition and made the costs of protected electronic control tape extremely high for small and medium businesses”, commented the Head of FAS Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex, Maxim Ovchinnikov.
