Parking at Domodedovo International Airport Will Be Less Expensive
OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2011. The Commission of the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Moscow region (Moscow Regional OFAS Russia) found that “DOMODEDOVO ASSET MANAGEMENT” CJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” by abusing dominance on the market of vehicles parking. The company fixed and maintained monopolistically high prices, which infringed the interests of consumers, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The case was initiated upon numerous petitions from citizens that prices for vehicle parking in the area adjacent to “Domodedovo” airport passenger terminal were unreasonably high, and on the basis of the findings of an inspection carried out by the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office for Law Enforcement of on Air and Water Transport.
Investigating the case, Moscow Regional OFAS Russia calculated the parking costs and verified whether the rates were justified.
Upon investigating the case, the Commission of Moscow Regional OFAS Russia found that “DOMODEDOVO ASSET MANAGEMENT” CJSC violated the antimonopoly law.
At the same time, the company changed the parking rates – the first 30 minutes on No.1 parking area (adjacent to “Domodedovo” airport passenger terminal) would cost 50 Rubles instead of 100 Rubles.
In view of the voluntary elimination of the antimonopoly violation, Moscow Regional OFAS Russia did not issue a determination to terminate the violation.
