OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2011. For the first time, the weekly magazine Veidas has listed Lithuania’s most valuable companies and has ranked ORLEN in the ninth position, based on the added value the companies created for the residents and country. The list contains 18 companies, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

The ranking of Lithuania’s most valuable companies was conducted in three stages. First of all, the largest companies were shortlisted based on the number of employees, taxes paid (excluding excise duty), job vacancies and environmental pollution.

Later, 125 were asked to send their data on the average salaries, investment into new technologies, dividend policy, business ambassador activity, sponsorship and support, and foreign investment.

At the last stage, the social elite evaluated 20 companies shortlisted based on the above criteria. The market research company Prime Consulting interviewed 500 entrepreneurs, politicians, public officials and professionals. As a result, the list of the companies which are most valuable for Lithuania and public has been created.

The ranking organizers excluded the manufacturers and distributors of alcohol and cigarettes and gambling organizers.
