Ukraine, Poland Signed Memo on Cooperation in Agricultural Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. During his working visit to Warsaw, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Marek Savitsky. The Memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the ministries of two countries.
At the meeting, the ministers discussed the dynamics of bilateral trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Poland in the field of agriculture. Mykola Prysyazhniuk noted that turnover of agricultural products between the two countries is constantly increasing.
"Only for 8 months of 2011, agricultural exports to Poland amounted to 287.6 million dollars, and imports - 221.8 million dollars. This is higher than last year," the Minister has informed.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and Marek Savitskiy discussed issues of a state and prospects of cooperation between countries in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary science.
Previously the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine visited a number of agro tourist farms in Stanislav city that specialize in growing cattle meat and dairy breeds. The Minister also inspected the item of veterinary assistance in Laysku.
As a result of the meeting, the ministers signed the Memorandum of support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, of the action of Ukraine in the adaptation of agriculture and rural areas to EU standards.
