OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2011. Belarus will examine China’s experience in establishing industrial parks. The Governments of Belarus and China will sign an agreement to organize a relevant workshop in China for Belarusian professionals.

The agreement will be concluded through an exchange of letters between the parties. This decision was approved by Resolution No. 1629 of the Council of Ministers. Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Filonov has been authorized to sign the letter on behalf of the Government of Belarus.

A decree on the establishment of the industrial park has been prepared, Anatoly Filonov said earlier. Belarusian specialists went to China for talks regarding the activities relating to the establishment of the park.

The agreement on cooperation on the investment project to develop the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park in Belarus with the participation of Eximbank (China) was signed in Minsk on 18 September 2011. In 2012, the work on creating the park will be stepped up. This facility is to be built near Minsk on the area of 80 square kilometers. The project is expected to attract not less than USD1 billion of direct Chinese investment. The park will house the facilities to produce science-intensive import-substituting products, including household appliances.
