OREANDA-NEWS. December 7, 2011. Passenger car production in Russia rose 49.0% year on year to 1,424.4 thousand units in January-October 2011, according to ASM Holding analysts’ data. Of the total, output of domestic car models was up 21.6% to 566.2 thousand units, while foreign-brand car output rose 75.2% to 858.2 thousand units.

Passenger car sales were up 43.0% on the year to 2,063.4 thousand units in the first ten months of 2011. Domestic car sales rose from 457.8 thousand units to 534.7 thousand units (up 16.8%). Locally assembled foreign-brand car sales rose from 495.5 thousand units to 829.9 thousand units (up 67.5%). Imported new car sales were up 43.4% to 693.0 thousand units.
