OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2011. IBA participated as a general partner in the eighth international forum on banking IT entitled BankIT’2011. Held in Minsk, Belarus, the event was organized by the National Bank of Belarus, the scientific and technological association Infopark, and the Association of Belarusian Banks, reported the press-centre of IBA.

The program of the forum included an official opening ceremony followed by a plenary meeting and panel discussions. Ryhor Zlobin, Technical Director of IBA, spoke at the plenary meeting. He presented the IBA’s perspective of the development of the Belarusian national payment infrastructure, including the national retail payment system under the tentative name of Belcard Electron. According to IBA, the system can cut payment chain expenses and maintenance costs, as well as contribute to a stronger positioning in the retail sector.
