In the future three years, Baosteel will successively invest 980 million yuan RMB in improving the environment protection equipment in the plant area and the environmental remediation to achieve the segmental goal of basically eliminating or relieving the visual pollution and keeping the overall effect of the factory environment clean and neat, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

More than 30 years since Baosteel was founded, part of the production facilities and environmental protection facilities have gradually taken on the deteriorating situation, making the pollution source control and the emission control more difficult and the environment appearance of the plant area not optimistic. Furthermore, with the increasing requirements of the environment protection of the public, the social image and responsibility of the enterprise face unprecedented considerations. In order to beautify the plant environment further, in the first half of this year, Baosteel carried out the plant area environment remediation activities titled as "Face Washing Engineering" and the environment outlook such as the factory roads, buildings and greening etc has been improved to some extent. To consolidate the achievements and meet the need of the long-term development of the enterprise, Baosteel emphasized the social responsibility to spend huge sums of money on the environment protection and start The Three-year Action Plan of the Factory Environmental Remediation of Baosteel.   

According to The Three-year Action Plan of the Factory Environmental Remediation of Baosteel, in the future three years, Baosteel will improve the accuracy of environmental protection facilities and further control the pollution source by strengthening the daily management of the protection environment. And Baosteel will promote the equipment function and gradually reduce and eliminate the rising dust by improving the production and environment protection facilities. For the key pollution area, Baosteel will implement the comprehensive management reformation and gradually improve and eliminate the pollution. The Three-year Action Plan of the Factory Environmental Remediation of Baosteel is to be carried forward in a cycle through two steps, and Baosteel is to realize the environmental improvement of the smelting areas during 2011-2013 and develop the environment depth management, improving the plant environment comprehensively.   

Up to now, Baosteel has planned 48 projects such as management, maintenance engineering and the comprehensive management etc. According to the relevant project management process, they will be started successively and completed before the end of 2013 according to the plan.
