OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2011. The tenth session of the international ecological materials conference was held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University a few days ago. Liu Yinhao, the chief engineer of LCA project team of Baosteel Research Institute Ironmaking and resource environmental research institute made the theme speech titled as Iron and Steel, a Future Oriented Material and showed in detail the enterprise image of Baosteel sparing no efforts to promote the whole life cycle assessment research, focus on the environmental management and lead green manufacturing, causing the attention and praise of the scholars and the experts present at the meeting, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

The meeting was sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and assisted by Baosteel. More than 100 experts and scholars at home and abroad from China, Japan, Holland and Portugal etc. Carried out a wide range of academic exchanges about the ecological materials research, the whole life cycle assessment of the materials and the new material manufacturing process. There were 5 papers of Baosteel adopted by the conference.

During the conference, under the organization of Baosteel Science and Technology Association, the experts at the meeting visited the production site of Bao Ci Company and Bao Tian Company subordinate to Baosteel Developing Co., Ltd. The practice that Baosteel recycled using the solid waste of the iron and steel manufacturing process and transformed it into the social resources with high added value caused the wide interest and full affirmation of the experts.

The representatives attending the meeting successively visited Baosteel Products Exhibition Hall, 1580 hot rolling production line and the raw material docks, giving a high appraisal to Baosteel numerous quality products, good production management, clean and beautiful plant environment and the strategy of sustainable development "Focus on energy conservation and emission reduction, and promote environmental management."
