OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2011. Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC ("Group" or "Kagazy") announces that two new Directors were appointed to the Board, reported the press-centre of KASE.

At the meeting held on 30 November 2011 the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC appointed Mr. John Khabbaz and Mr. Martin Quirke as non-executive directors with immediate effect.

Mr Martin Quirke was until recently the CEO of Bakcell, a leading mobile operator in Azerbajan. He has held several board, executive and operational roles in the telecommunication industry for Cable&Wireless, in Kazakhstan, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Russia. He served as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan from 2002 to 2006.

Mr John Khabbaz is a Managing Director of Witter International, a New York based asset manager, and Fund Manager of the Phoenician Capital LLC, a Global Value Fund part of Witter Group of Funds. He was the Founder and CEO of International Cotton, a major manufacturer of private-label knitwear products which he successfully sold in 2003. Mr Khabbaz holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School of New York, USA, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University of Montreal, Canada.

Mr Tomas Mateos Werner, Chairman of the Board, commented: "I welcome Martin and John to our Board. They will assist us in strengthening the operational and financial capabilities of the Group to continue delivering good results".
