TATNEFT Ranked among Leaders of Environment-Related Activities
OREANDA-NEWS. December 05, 2011. TATNEFT was awarded an honorary diploma "Leader of the environmental activity in Russia-2011", reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
The ceremony of honoring the winners of the environmental contest was held at the State Kremlin Palace as part of the Ecologists' Congress of Russia, organized with the support of the Federation Council, State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosprirodnadzor and several environmental organizations.
All-Russian review contest "Leader of the environmental activity in Russia-2011" has been held since 2004 with the aim of public encouragement of enterprises to vigorous activity in the field of environmental protection and environmental management promoting sustainable development of the Russian economy.
TATNEFT has repeatedly confirmed its high ecological ranking at a nationwide level winning in prestigious environmental contests of the country. Over the past decades, the Company has implemented two large-scale environmental programs. Currently in the framework of the third environmental program designed for the period until 2015, TATNEFT continues to pursue a single integrated policy in the field of nature protection, industrial safety, occupational health and environment protection.
The Ecologists' Congress which was attended by experts of the Company discussed the issues of improving the state regulation in the field of environmental protection, elimination of the accumulated recent environmental damage and increased responsibility for the violations in the field of ecology, etc.
The participants paid much attention to the problem of the waste recycling. At the congress this sphere of activities was named one of the most promising for maintenance of ecological balance, and at the same time the one requiring the support of regional authorities.
Among other areas of environmental protection measures the draft resolution of the Congress suggested to work out economical incentives for development and introduction of environmentally sound technologies, including establishment of an infrastructure to collect and recycle wastes.
The Congress organizers also arranged a roundtable discussion on practical cooperation with federal and regional divisions of Rosprirodnadzor.
