5MCC Group Bags Contract for China First TFT-LCD Production Line
OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2011. The 5th China Metallurgical Construction Group (5MCC Group) announces that, it has won the contract for G5.5 LTPS TFT-LCD and CF Production Line of Xiamen Tianma Micro-electronics Co., Ltd. in Fujian Province. A Project Division was fielded by 5MCC Group on site for civil works implementation of M1 Main Workshop Under this works, reported the press-centre of MCC Group.
As the first such production line in China and the second line in the whole world, it is expected to be completed as of June 2014, with an annual output of 360,000 pieces of array glass substrate and 720,000 pieces of CF glass substrate. The products will be utilized on the medium/high-end markets for medium/small-sized displayers in the fields of mobile terminal (MT), car monitor, entertainment displayer, industrial instrument and office display terminal.
This project is deemed to be a key part in the Pilot Base for Photoelectric Display Industry Cluster, which are attached with great importance by Xiamen Municipal Government and with a total annual output of over one hundred billion RMB yuan after completion. The jobsite is located in Xiaweitan, Xiang’an District of Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, covering a total floorage area of around 260,000 square meters.
As the technology of Low Temperature Poly-silicon (LTPS) is introduced for this production line, the product is featured by quite a few outstanding advantages, in comparison with that under amorphous silicon technology, such as high electron mobility, high definition, high aperture rate, low power consumption and integrated driver.
In addition, the low-temperature polycrystalline silicon substrate can be used as the substrate for OLED (Organic Light Emitting Display), namely the panel display of next generation, which will be widely utilized for various display products such as high-end smart-phones. Therefore such product is of remarkable significance in terms of technical innovation and application prospect in the market.
