OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2011. MPX  completed the qualification of the 83 students that took part in the Technical Qualification Program for UTE Pecem II, a thermoelectric power plant that is now being built in the municipality of Sao Goncalo do Amarante (CE). In partnership with  Instituto Centro de Ensino Tecnologico (CENTEC), Sao Goncalo city hall and SINE/IDT, MPX offered Civil Construction, Industrial Mechanics and Industrial Welding Courses. Students’ graduation ceremony was held at the CVTEC auditorium, in  Sao Goncalo do Amarante, where students, their families and representatives of the sponsoring institutions celebrated the achievement.

“Qualification is critical to region development, besides the thermoelectric plants in construction at  Pecem, other large projects will come to the municipality and local labor will be much valued.  Courses like those are part of the MPX and EBX Group commitment to the generation of local opportunities”, MPX Project Manager Fernando Moura said.

The course was praised by Natiele Andrade that had just received her industrial welding course diploma. “Classes were excellent and all teachers  exceptional.  I used to be a seamstress and now  I have a totally new qualification. This will be extremely important because development in this region is growing fast”. Jose Ailton da Silva who took the Civil Construction course  was immensely happy with his diploma and has great hopes for the future. “The MPX qualification project  is not simply providing training to workers, but actually fully preparing good professionals for great achievements”,  he said.
