OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2011. Chairman Xu Lejiang of the Group Corporation met Ms. Alice Cawte, Australia's Consul-General in Shanghai, in Baosteel Tower. Both parties exchanged views on the development trend of Chinese steel industry, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Ms. Alice Cawte came to Shanghai to take over the post in Oct. this year. During the meeting, Xu Lejiang welcomed Ms. Alice Cawte's visit. He said, Baosteel's development in Australia has received energetic supports from Australian government and the authorities concerned, and achieved good results. The trend of bilateral cooperative interaction in future is becoming more and more obvious, he wished that Ms. Alice Cawte during her tenure of office as the Consul-General can continue to pay attention to and drive more extensive exchanges and cooperations of Baosteel in more fields of Australia.

Alice Cawte expressed that Baosteel as a world renowned steelmaker is also an very important enterprise to Australia. For many years, both parties have carried out many cooperations in trading, investment and research. She wished to further enhance the understanding between both parties during her tenure, and promote the smooth development of the cooperations in various fields between Baosteel and Australia.
