TATNEFT Improved Mean Time between Failures of Wells Operation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2011. The total mean time between failures (MTBF) of the wells operation at TATNEFT reached the level of 1136 days, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
The mean time between failures is an estimated figure of the wells operation and the operation of downhole pumping systems. The MTBF achieved by the Company means that the average period of trouble-free operation of the wells at TATNEFT is more than three years. This is one of the highest MTBF rates among large enterprises of the oil industry in Russia.
The increase of MTBF index considerably promotes application of innovative technologies, introduction of modern equipment and improving the quality of repair work at the wells.
As far as the oilmen are concerned the increase of MTBF means less downtime of the wells awaiting repairs, reduction of costs of maintaining the well stock in an operable state, which leads to significant savings in energy and resource expenditures of the Company.
Today, the specialists of TATNEFT working in close collaboration with colleagues from service management companies face the challenge to further increase this rate to the level of leading foreign companies.
