Forum of Trans-Boundary Cooperation Will Take Place in Chisinau
OREANDA-NEWS. November 29, 2011. The decision about it was taken at the 2nd forum which was held in the near border area of the city of Kaliningrad (Russia) and the city of Elblag (Poland). At the forum Moldova was represented by Veaceslav Gututui, the deputy-minister of regional development and construction of Moldova and Igor Malai, the director of the department of policy and regional cooperation. About 100 representatives of public institutions and NGOs from 15 states of the Central and Eastern Europe participated in the work of the forum.
The mission of the forum is interactive dialog for furthering freedom of movement of residents of the frontier regions, stimulating financial undertakings of the frontier cooperation, strengthening potential of local authorities, businesses and non governmental organizations for participation in cooperation.
Within the framework of the forum, Veaceslav Gututui has pointed out that frontier cooperation is important for Moldova and told about our country’s activity in programs of border cooperation within framework of regions of the Upper-Prut River, Siret – Prut – Dniester and the Lower Danube. He also stressed the necessity of establishment of the Dniester European region.
The forum participants expressed their willingness to enhance relations with our country and decided Chisinau to be the next to play host for the forum.
