OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2011. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is ready to consider and approve the draft of consumer policy of Ukraine at the government level. He has declared this during a meeting with representatives of NGOs on issues of consumer rights protection.

"I would like to ask you to expound in the form of document, which you see the order of solving the problems of consumer rights protection. If you need a concept - develop it. What changes should be made in the legislation, the regulatory framework, in the principles of supervisory and regulatory bodies - we will consider and take into account the view of the public," Prime Minister said, addressing to the representatives of NGOs. He also urged them submit appropriate proposals within two months.

According to the Prime Minister, so as to establish order in compliance with consumer rights in Ukraine, it is necessary to combine the efforts of both authorities and NGOs that protect the rights of consumers. For this purpose, Mykola Azarov suggested to create permanently operating Advisory Board under the Cabinet on consumer rights protection. And he asked representatives of NGOs to give suggestions on the composition of this Board and the order of its meetings.

Besides, Prime Minister proposed to establish a program on the First National TV Channel, which would release the information about unscrupulous manufacturers and substandard products.

The Head of Government has reminded that on his behalf, the laboratory checks of food have been conducted in all regions of Ukraine, and in all samples there were non-compliance with state standards, or declarations on the package. Mykola Azarov named this situation unacceptable and has noted that the tough sanctions would be applied to unscrupulous manufacturers. "We have every opportunity in order to under beautiful packaging there were qualitative products," he stressed.
