OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. From 13 through 15 November in Dubai (UAE) the International Conference on construction, integration and maintenance of oil pipelines took place. The delegation of JSC “Transneft”, headed by the First Vice-President Y. Lysin, who became the part of the Executive Technical Committee of the conference, took part in it.

This year the attention of the participants was focused on the questions of construction and maintenance not only of trunk, but technological pipelines. The necessity of maintenance services for the existing pipeline systems was also mentioned. Because of that the presentations of JSC “Transneft” and its subsidiaries, dedicated to the questions of monitoring and maintenance of oil pipelines in Russia, drew much attention. In particular, the representative of “Transneft” talked about organization of monitoring at the pipeline system “Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean”. The oil extractors from Africa (including Nigeria) were interested in innovational methods of monitoring of pipelines, developed by PJSC “Omega”. The representative of JSC “CTD Diaskan” spoke not only about the used methods of discovery of defects at the pipelines, but also about the further work aimed at their elimination.

In the course of three days the participants of the delegation of “Transneft” exchanged with their foreign colleagues the experience of construction of big pipeline systems. The most interest was shown to it by the representatives of the companies of the United Arab Emirates, whose most actual task is to create a unique pipeline system on the Arab Peninsula.

According to the words of the representative of the Emirate company “Knowledge Expansion”, “the successful participation of the delegation of JSC “Transneft” in the traditionally high-level conference was considered by the leading companies of our region as an important step towards the fortification of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of technologies of pipeline transport”.

The persons in charge of the organization of the conference spoke about their readiness “to go to Russia, give the information about the successes of “Transneft” to the companies from United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other countries as well”.
