Kaspersky Lab and Corero Network Security Sign Partnership Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces a new technology partnership agreement with Corero Network Security, the leading developer of Intrusion Prevention Systems and Distributed Denial of Service defense systems for enterprises, data centers and hosting providers. Under the partnership, Kaspersky Lab will provide known malware signatures for inclusion in Corero’s IPS 5500 Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) solution.
Enterprise IPS customers demand that their IPS can detect and block transfers of known malware into their network. Leveraging Corero’s fourth-generation IPS platform architecture, Corero’s IPS 5500 enables enterprises, government entities, educational institutions and hosting providers to detect and preemptively block known and unknown advanced cyber threats, in an easy to deploy, use, and manage, standalone unit. To further strengthen the client-side protection offered by Corero’s IPS, the company has integrated feature sets of the Kaspersky SafeStream II, a first-level anti-malware stream scanning technology for use with hardware pattern-matching engines to detect dangerous threats at wire speed.
“We are pleased to welcome Corero to our technology partnership program,” said Stephane Le Hir, VP Technology Alliances , Kaspersky Lab. “Corero, known for providing high-performance protection solutions, will certainly benefit from integrating our known malware protection in order to ensure the most effective defense against remote exploits, malware, and other network-borne cyber-attacks that target enterprise networks.”
Kaspersky Lab’s frequent updates and extensive malware signature library will further enable Corero to provide even stronger threat protection and fast response to its IPS customers.
"At Corero, we place an extremely high priority on product development, both organic and acquired, to bring our customers the most effective IPS and DDoS Defense solutions on the market," said Marty Meyer, CEO at Corero Network Security. "Partnering with Kaspersky was a natural choice. The company is known for having the highest detection rate of known malware with minimal false alarms. With technology focused upon the most prevalent threats, it yields extremely high performance and provides optimum protection scope.”
