OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. From 7th to 10th November the closing visit in 2011 of the representatives of US National laboratories on nuclear materials physical protection, control and accounting took place at Siberian Chemical Plant, OJSC (a part of TVEL, Fuel Company of Rosatom). The delegation included the representatives of Los Alamos and Pacific US National Laboratories and was headed by the representative of US Department of Energy Robert Larsen.

The National laboratories representatives found confirmation of 11 joint projects. The development of software for the systems of nuclear materials control and accounting, operational base for security arrangements repair and maintenance and many others are among such projects. In the year 2011 within the framework of the project the successive stage of the checkpoint of Seversk controlled area modernization was completed at Siberian Chemical Plant. Besides that, Seversk main checkpoints were equipped with safety boxes. Such facilities perform not only their direct task – protection of sentries, but also significantly improve the terms of duty in Siberian rigorous climate. The safety boxes installation works were carried out by Tekhservis Management company (the outsourcing unit created by Siberian Chemical Plant, OJSC in the year 2010).

In the course of the visit the Parties also outlined 2012 main tasks and coordinated the joint plans adjustment through the year 2017.
