Volume of Cargo Transportation Increases 21.1% in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. Within January-October the volume of cargo transportation made 8,1 mln. tones, which is 21,1% more against the same period in 2010. According to the National Statistics Bureau findings, in particular, the growth of the indicator was provided by increase of cargo auto transportation by 16,7% to 4 mln 138 thou. tones and of cargo railway transportation 26,5% to 3 mln.837,1 thou. tones.
The biggest share in the total volume of cargo shipped at railway stations, in January-October, 2011, fell to crops and flour products – 36,6% (January-October, 2010 – 29,4%), ferrous materials and metal scrap– 23,3% (21,4%), building materials and cement– 17,1% (15,1%).
Cargo air transportation increased in January-October, 2011 by 22,6% to 1,2 thou. tones, and river cargo transportation grew by 14,8% to 125,7 thou. tones.
