Sharing of Cost of Indian Railway Projects with States
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2011. In view of huge throwforward of ongoing projects and limited availability of resources, for generating additional funds State Governments have been requested to share part of the cost project. State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have come forward for taking up projects on cost sharing basis and presently 31 projects covering a length of about 5000 Km are being executed on cost sharing basis with State Governments.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri K. H. Muniyappa in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
