PM of Ukraine Calls to Make Legal Gaps of Consumer Rights Protection
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2011. The first that should make the Government – are to eliminate legal gaps and actual backwardness of our legislation in sphere of protection of the rights of customers. This was stressed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a Cabinet meeting, where it was considered proper enforcement of consumer rights.
On July 5th, 2011, there has become expired the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers to regulate, in particular, the issues of check manufacturers of food products. This was led to that area remained virtually out of control.
"And where did the State Inspectorate of Ukraine on Consumer Rights Protection in the meantime looked?" Mykola Azarov asked. "Why have not considered in the Verkhovna Rada the Draft Law "On amendments to the laws of Ukraine and the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine" On standardization and certification" and "On amendments to the laws of Ukraine on the declaration of conformity?"
The Prime Minister of Ukraine has demanded from the Head of the State Inspectorate Orekhov "to correct unacceptable errors in preparing the regulatory framework for such important and sensitive sphere, as protection of the rights of customers. We need to immediately review the Cabinet's policy regulator in this area."
"We need to immediately review the regulatory policy of the Cabinet in this regard," Prime Minister stated.
