OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. On November 16 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company celebrates its anniversary. On this day, in 1947, the Council of Ministers of USSR adopted Regulation No. 3819-1281с “On establishment of the foreign insurance office of the USSR (Ingosstrakh Insurance Company) based on the Foreign Operations Office (UINO) of Gosstrakh of the USSR”, thus, this day is considered to be the foundation day of the insurance company.

Today Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is a federal level universal insurer and one of the leaders of the domestic insurance market. The company has the right to deliver all types of insurance services (with regard to the insurer’s profile) provided in Article 32.9 of the RF Law “On insurance in the Russian Federation”, and reinsurance services.

Over 64 years of successful business Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has formed an extensive branch network, opened branches throughout Russia. The insurer’s branches operate in 221 cities of Russia. Subsidiaries of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company operate in the CIS and far-abroad countries, being members of the INGO International Group (the Group includes insurance companies, the 50% of capital of which is controlled by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company). Besides, five representative offices of the insurer operate on the territory of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, India and China.

Good business reputation and reliability of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company are confirmed by international and Russian ratings. The company has the Standard & Poor’s international agency ratings: long-term counterparty credit rating, financial stability rating is at the level of ВВВ-, and the national scale rating is ruАА+, the forecast is “Stable”. Russian rating agency Expert RA has been confirming the reliability rating of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company at the level of А++, “highest reliability level”, year by year, starting from 2002.

Today the insurance company’s clients are the largest industrial enterprises, organizations participating in foreign trade activity, transportation and trade firms, banks, representative offices of transnational organizations, etc. Most of them have been cooperating with the insurance company over many years.

Over the years of business Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has paid out several insurance indemnities that are record for the Russian insurance, they are connected with Kupon satellite destruction (USD 85 million), property of the Central Bank of the RF, and the fire at the warehouse of PROTEK Company (USD 75 million), the pharmaceuticals distributor. Besides, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is the only Russian insurance company to participate in payments for the losses related to the tragedy of September 11, 2001 in the USA. This year Ingosstrakh Insurance Company paid out over USD 28.7 million in connection with An-148 aircraft crush on test flight in the Belgorod Region. By the end of 2011 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company will paid in full the insured event connected with Express-AM4 space vehicle, which was placed in wrong orbit in August as a result of launching failure, the payment amounts to RUB 7.5 billion.

Over the latest years Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has been actively developing voluntary medical insurance. The key project implemented by the company is a network of “Be Healthy” clinics for provision of quality medical services to clients. Today, the insurer’s own clinics operate in Saint Petersburg, Saratov, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Ufa, Kazan and Moscow; it is planned to open medical centers in Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Kemerovo. In total, the project will provide the insurance company with 25 operational “Be Healthy” clinics in Russia.

An important event for the company was signing the agreement between General Manager of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company Alexander Grigoriev and the President of the Organizing Committee of “Sochi 2014” Dmitry Chernyshenko on 18 September 2010, under which the company was officially recognized as the Partner of XXII Winter Olympics and XI Winter Paralympics of 2014 in Sochi. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company also became a Partner of Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Russia (till the end of 2016) and a Partner of Russian Olympic and Paralympic teams (applicable to each team which will take part in Olympic Games in 2012, 2014 and 2016) in the category “Insurance”. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company will again support the main world sports event, which will take place in Russia. The signing of the agreement was symbolic, because 30 years ago Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was the main insurer of XXII Summer Olympics in Moscow in 1980.

The company received a number of prizes and awards. In April 2011 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company became the prize winner of EFFIE®/THE BEST BRAND 2010 contest. The insurance company already won the contests EFFIE®/THE BEST BRAND 2007 and 2009. Moreover, it is the only Russian company which is always in the top 40 of most expensive Russian brands since 2005. In May 2011 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company won the National award “Golden Diploma 2011” for information transparency and professionalism. In July 2011 the insurance company became the winner of the Golden Salamander national insurance award in two main nominations: “The Insurance Company of the Year” and “The Most Open and Transparent Company of the Year”. It must be mentioned that Ingosstrakh Insurance Company received this award in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2011 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was given the certificate of compliance of the management system with the quality standards of State Standards of the Russian Federation (GOST R) ISO 9001-2008 in the field of all insurance services including reinsurance. It must be noted that very few companies of the federal level have such a certificate.

An important event for the company happened in September 2011. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company opened a museum in Moscow dedicated to the history of insurance and the company. The exhibits tell us about the development of the insurance industry over the centuries: emerging of the insurance industry, important events, insured events and modern achievements. The museum of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is unique because people who take interest in this sphere, people who work in insurance industry, as well as students of finance universities may visit it on application. The guests have a chance to see rare documents, collectibles like insurance boards, policies, books and photos. Such museums didn’t exist in Russia before, that is why Ingosstrakh Insurance Company’s decision was innovative, and Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was the first to give people access to these materials and to add sound and light effects to a few exhibitions related to the history of insurance, making the exhibition interactive.

Nowadays, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is trying to be closer to the client, it is developing the most comfortable insurance products and perfecting the process of adjusting the claims. The company is making use of modern developments and implements the newest technologies. In November 2011 Ingosstrakh Insurance Company offered its clients a mobile application for smartphones and communicators, which run on Android OS. Today, from anywhere in the world any time the customer has an opportunity to order an insurance policy, to inform the insurance company about the road accident or to be instructed on how they should behave if the insured event happened while they were abroad.
