OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2011. Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ, OJSC) – associated with Power Machines Group – has manufactured two steam turbines with a capacity of 23 MW each against an order placed by E4 Group, OJSC.

A contract to supply the power generating equipment was concluded with E4 Group at the beginning of 2011. Under the terms of the contract, KTZ was to manufacture and to supply two T-17/23-4.5/0.18 steam turbines with a capacity of 23 MW each, and to provide installation supervision and commissioning services.

Both of the turbines have been manufactured, successfully tested and accepted by the customer.

The turbines produced by KTZ are to operate as a part of combined cycle power plants having capacities of 115 and 120 MW and being built in order to expand the "Tsentralnaya" Boiler House in Astrakhan. LUKoil-Energoengineering, LLC (Rostov-on-Don) acts as a contracting authority for construction. The new capacities are designed to reduce power generation deficiency existing in the Astrakhan region.
