OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. SOCAR President attended annual Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum in Turkey and delivered a speech. During his speech, Mr. Abdullayev highly appreciated gas agreements signed in Izmir with the participation of heads of Turkey and Azerbaijan and pointed out energy union of both countries as an important step in realization of “Southern gas corridor”. According to him, signing of the agreements laid the foundation of the project. Speaking about the Southern Gas Corridor, SOCAR President touched the building of new gas pipelines for delivering gas produced from various Azerbaijani fields via the territory of Turkey.

Mr. Abdullayev announced that new pipe would be named as Trans Anadolu gas pipe. According to him, initial agreements on the abovementioned project were reached in October 25 in Izmir.
