OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. Net profit of Belarus’ communication companies went up 4% on the year to 501.7 billion Belarusian rubles (Br), or U.S. USD 58 million at the official rate of the central bank, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Communication services exports in January-July 2011 amounted to U.S. USD 122.7 million, up 5.2%, and imports went up 0.9% to USD 70.4 million.

Profitability of sales of the enterprises run by the Communications Ministry went up 2.3 percentage points on the year in January-August 2011 to 27.6%.

There were two loss-making organizations in the sector in January-August 2011, or 4% of the total number.

Postal service tariffs have grown 4.4% on the year in January-September 2011, long-distance calls – 2.2%, local called on landlines – 5.7%. Cell companies have raised their tariffs 2.9%.
