OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Kashevarov took part in the Competition Day in Bulgaria (Sofia) devoted to 20th anniversary of forming Bulgaria’s Commission for Protection of Competition, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The heads of competition authorities, leading representatives of academia, legal, judicial and business communities took part in a broad discussion about “Modern Trends and Priorities of Competition Policy”.

Andrey Kashevarov informed the participants about the latest changes in the antimonopoly law of the Russian Federation, which caused the interest of not only his colleagues from foreign competition authorities by also the General Directorate on Competition of the European Commission.

“FAS Russia endeavours to develop a modern system of national competition law and enforcement, on many aspects harmonized with the international rules and standards”, said Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Kashevarov.

Such meetings of the heads of competition authorities constitute a unique platform to exchange the best practices in the field of competition policy and enforcement, which undoubtedly helps improving national competition laws.
