OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. IKEA trading and operations manager for Europe, Northern and Southern Americas Kent-Ake Ahlgren announced this during the meeting of Moldova’s prime-minister Vladimir Filat and IKEA representatives and its biggest suppliers. Kent-Ake Ahlgren has pointed out that IKEA, in particular, is interested in cooperation with producers of sofas, textile, metal items for furniture and ceramics.

He also emphasized that within 2 days he has visited a number of Moldova’s enterprises, met domestic entrepreneurs and been impressed on by some Moldavians factories. According to him, IKEA representatives will examine the market of Moldova more amply to determine best areas of cooperation. Vladimir Filat has stressed that IKEA’s presence in Moldova is important not only because of investment to come, but also due to IKEA’s being an example of running a business basing on accountability.

Moldova, facing some difficulties though, gives the opportunities for developing a business under conditions of free trade with CIS countries and autonomic trade preferences, Vladimir Filat says. By the end of the year, negotiations with European Commission on Free Trade Agreement are expected to start.
