OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. The Small Hall of the University of Latvia (LU) saw the ceremonial presentation of scholarships from LU patrons for the academic year 2011/2012. One of these was the SORAINEN scholarship awarded to MA student Emils Paupe, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.

On receiving the SORAINEN scholarship award, Emils commented: "I wish to express sincere thanks to those who recommended me – Professors Janis Lazdins and Juris Bojars – for their responsiveness and benevolence. I also thank the patron's representative Agris Repss, LU Fund executive director Laila Kundzina-Zvejniece and the Dean of LU Faculty of Law, Professor Kristine Strada-Rozenberga, as well as other members of the scholarship commission for the cordial interview and for their decision."

This year LU patrons granted scholarships to the 106 most promising LU students in various fields of study.

SORAINEN Latvia has been a LU patron for several years. This is the first year that the firm has granted scholarship to a law student to promote interest and initiative in research work and public activities. The amount of this year's SORAINEN Latvia scholarship is LVL 1,800 (approx EUR 2,561).
