According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China scrapped 41.00 million tons of outmoded pig iron capacity last year, outstripping the planned goal by 11.00 million tons; eliminated 11.86 million tons of steelmaking capacity, exceeding the planned goal by 4.33 million tons.

By region, Shanxi tore down 10.39 million tons of pig iron capacity last year, surpassing its original plan by 6.39 million tons.

Liaoning eliminated 1.75 million tons of pig iron capacity, surpassing its original plan by 553,000 tons.

Shandong eradicated 3.30 million tons of iron-making capacity, outstripping the plan by 900,000 tons.

Guangdong rooted out 210,000 tons more iron-making capacity than the original plan of 710,000 tons.

Chongqing also outperformed its plan by erasing one million tons of iron-making capacity last year.
