OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov charged the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to establish state enterprise to purchase of medicines. He announced this during a visit to the Kyiv City Center for Radiation Protection of Population from the Chornobyl Disaster Consequences.

"We need to establish the state enterprise on purchase of medicines. By this means, we will create competition to those pharmacies that sell drugs at speculative prices. We will enter into directly agreements with manufacturers of medical products and we will supply the hospitals with a necessary amount of medicines at affordable prices," the Head of Government has underlined.

Moreover, Mykola Azarov has reminded that yesterday, during a meeting on access to medicines for people, he has instructed to prepare immediately amendments to the legislation that are envisioning when establishing fact inflated drug prices, the immediate withdrawal of licenses and closure of such pharmacies.
