OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. Anhui province comes ninth in China in terms of cultural influence, according to an annual report on cultural development index of provinces and municipalities throughout the country.

The report shows the development pattern of China's regional cultural sector in 2011 remains roughly the same as always, with Beijing, the capital of the country, on the top for two consecutive years, followed by Guangdong province, Shanghai, Zhejiang province, Jiangsu province, Shangdong province, Tianjin, Sichuan province, Liaoning province and Fujian Province.

On top of the comprehensive development index rankings, the report lists top ten provinces or municipalities according to their cultural productivity indexes, cultural influence indexes and cultural driving force indexes, respectively.

Shanghai claims the top spot with a cultural influence index of 83.3, closely followed by Beijing and Zhejiang province on 83.2 and 82.4. The ninth place is taken by Anhui province, which scores 75.9.
