OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. Delivering a speech at a briefing held in Kazan organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Igor Medvedev, Chairman of the Committee for Development of the Production System of OJSC KAMAZ said that the automobile plant plans to take an active part in the VI International Lean Conference which will be held in Kazan on November 22.

The theme of the Lean Conference is "Effective processes for high performance". Implementation of lean manufacturing tools (KAMAZ has been using them since 2006) has already brought KAMAZ an economic effect of about 15.8 billion rubles. According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulnara Akhmadeeva, this is one of the best results in Russia.

Therefore, KAMAZ not only implements the methods and principles of lean manufacturing, but also shares its experience with enterprises and organizations of various profiles across the whole country. For example, KAMAZ employees plan not only to address the participants but also to organize a series of master classes at the Lean Forum. Yury Klochkov, First Deputy General Director of OJSC KAMAZ – CEO, is responsible for preparation of the company for the important event.

Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of Tatarstan; Sergey Katyrin, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation; Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ plan to participate in the Lean Forum.
