Chairman of ROSNO BoD Awarded with Badge of Honor
OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. The Russian Union of Insurers has awarded a badge of honor "For Achievements in Developing Insurance in Russia" to Mr. Hannes Chopra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IC ROSNO. The awarded achievement is the popularization of international practices in Russia, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
Mr. Hannes Chopra started his career with ROSNO when Allianz became ROSNO’s shareholder in 2001, and was appointed ROSNO’s CEO in 2007. With emergence of a foreign shareholder, the company underwent significant changes, becoming more stable, technologically advanced and oriented towards the European standards recommended by the shareholder. Under the leadership of Mr. Hannes Chopra, during these four years, huge ambitious projects were successfully implemented. Among those are: modification of the organizational structure, centralization, opening of the Agent School, Operation Centre in Voronezh, Single Purchase Centre, implementation of new information technologies — "Salesman Terminal", Lombardi, SAP. All these significant internal transformations coincided with the global economic crisis, when the volume of insurance premium collected was decreasing, while ROSNO was completely restructuring its insurance portfolio. Today, the entire company portfolio is market-oriented, diversified and stable. The company’s financial stability is evidenced by the fact that IC ROSNO paid 200 million US dollars for the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HES, which is an absolute record in the history of the Russian insurance market. Presently, ROSNO is the only international player in the TOP-15 of the Russian insurance market.
Introduced in 2005, the Russian Union of Insurers’ badge of honor "For Achievements in Developing Insurance in Russia" is awarded to those private individuals who resolve issues of particular complexity and importance, successfully perform in the insurance sector and make significant personal contribution to the development of insurance in Russia, and having at least three-year work record in the Russian insurance market. So far, just 7 people were awarded with similar badge by the Union of Insurers.
