OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. The Russian government has decided to sell 75% minus 1 share in the Open Joint Stock Company Novosibirsk Switch Plant and the Open Joint Stock Company Moscow Locomotive Repair Plant, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The stakes will be sold on a competitive basis, but at a price no lower than the market value based on an assessment reached by an independent appraiser and not below the nominal value of the shares. Work on developing the procedures for the auctions will begin this year, with the sale planned for 2012.

The Novosibirsk Switch Plant is a subsidiary of Russian Railways and specialises in manufacturing switching equipment for main railway lines and rail lines to companies, metallurgical, mining and processing plants and coal mines, as well as for tramways and underground systems.

The Moscow Locomotive Repair Plant is subsidiary of Russian Railways which specialises in overhauling electric rolling stock. The factory was involved in the projects to develop the Sputnik EM2 and EM4 commuter trains.
