OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2011. EuroChem announced today that it donated two ambulances to the Sarysuisky and Talassky districts of the Jambyl Province of the Republic of Kazakhstan where it plans to develop phosphate rock deposits and build a fertilizer plant. Valued at USD 50,000 each, the two ambulances come fully equipped for emergency medical assistance and will provide valuable to support local district hospitals.
In October 2008, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev supported the decision to establish mining operations and a beneficiation plant at the Karatau phosphate rock deposit as well as phosphate-based and nitrogen-based fertilizer production facilities. In 2009, at Astana’s Russian International Exhibition, Viktor Khristenko, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, and Sayat Mynbayev, Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, approved EuroChem’s investment project, which is expected to further develop mutual cooperation the two countries.
With its strong focus on health and environmental safety, EuroChem’s corporate social responsibility system has no equal in the Russian agrochemical sector. Over the last 10 years, a total of RUB 2.2 billion has been spent to support social and charitable projects and local communities.
