OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2011. The volume of transit cargo transported through Ukraine for 9 months of 2011 amounted to 109.28 million tons, a 19.9 percent decline from a year earlier, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine said.

Transit rail traffic was down 1.8 percent, to 32.04 million tons. Shipping of the cargo by sea transport increased by 1.7 times to 2.55 million tons.

In January-October, the Ukrainian transport companies carried 666.1 million tons of cargo, a 7.9% gain year-on-year.
