OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2011. Zavolzhsky motorny zavod (a branch of "SOLLERS" group), in frames of strategy on diversification, expands product mix of automotive components production under orders of international automotive companies, which work in RF territory.

In accordance with "Knorrr Bremse" order, ZMZ realized a project on mastering of production process: machining of crankshaft for diesel compressor made in “Avtodiesel”.

According to schedule of activities the representative of "Knorr Bremse" assessed production of new automotive component. In turn, ZMZ specialists provided Knorr Bremse with the samples of the parts and technical documentation in order to make final decision on approval of technological process and launch of production.

In case of positive decision, production and supply of first production batches of new crankshafts must start in November 2011.

Preliminary volume of order for this component on 2012 taking into account the remaining months 2011 will amount to 16,5 thousand pcs.

Currently “ZMZ” supplies to "Knorr Bremse" the crankshafts of compressors for KAMAZ vehicles. Machining of crankshafts and their production supplies has been started since April 2010 with increase of volumes. During 10 months 2011 ZMZ supplied under purchase order of "Knorr Bremse" more than 12,5 thousand crankshafts – twice more than in 2010. Supplies forecast for 2011 will amount to more than 15 thousand pieces.

Also ZMZ has taken decision on start of preproduction on third type of crankshaft – for engine compressor , project "KAMAZ-KAMMINS" with volume of production up to 14 000 pcs in 2012. Due time for pilot batch is December 2011.

Simultaneously taking into account volumes of 2012 года under orders of "Knorr Bremse" ZMZ has started realization of project on mastering of KAMAZ compressor case production. According to approved schedule of project activities the project is planned to start in active phase and to start production supplies in 2nd quarter 2012.
