ICBC Makes Rapid Progress on Online Payment of Train Tickets
OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2011. During the "October 1st" golden week nearly 55,000 train tickets totaling close to RMB 10 million have been paid through ICBC's online ticketing & payment system, the reporter has revealed today from the Bank. The online payment system of ICBC has provided the great convenience for travelers to buy train tickets during the holiday. Since the first train ticket selling online has been successfully paid through ICBC Internet Banking on June 11, travelers soon take this new option to buy and pay train tickets online. In September alone, train tickets involving over RMB 30 million in amount have been successfully paid through ICBC online ticketing & payment system, rising more than 70% against August's, reported the press-centre of ICBC.
In late September, tickets of all CRH trains can be bought online. Since then, ICBC provides service for passengers to buy and pay online the tickets for CRH trains starting with G, D, C, as related by an ICBC executive. This means a bigger room for the delivery of online payment service for train tickets bought via internet.
It is very fast and convenient to buy train ticket online and pay via Internet Banking. Passengers just login the website of China Railway customer service center (www.12306.cn) and register, then follow the instructions to check and book their train tickets. Once finished, they can use the ICBC card already registered under Internet Banking to pay online. Railway authority will send the details of the tickets to the buyers via email or SMS. Travelers use own identity card to collect the paper train tickets at any railway ticketing office. Train stations of Beijing-Tianjin inter-city line and Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail are equipped with devices to check second-generation identity cards. Travelers are allowed to use the second-generation identity card (used when buying the ticket) at the automatic ticket-checking device to enter or exit the train station, enjoying the fast and convenient "green" service.
The Ministry of Railways is going to offer online ticketing service for all trains before the end of this year. In light of this, ICBC will continue promoting such service in a bid to offer more quality and diversified services for travelers to easily buy train tickets online.
