OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2011. In order to fulfill obligations to the UEFA, the handling capacity of new airport terminal "International Airport "Lviv" will be doubled - to 2 thousand passengers per hour. Thus, its area will be increased to 48 thousand 320 square meters (almost 18 % in comparison with the previous project).

Thus the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been adjusted project "The construction of new terminal at the State Enterprise "International Airport "Lviv". The relevant decision is accepted at the Government meeting upon the proposal of the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov.

The project involves the redevelopment of areas, improvement of plans for passenger service, construction of additional annexes to the terminal, the improvement of architectural units and so forth. The project also includes additional engineering support.

In comparison with the previous project, the area of car parks will be increased by 17.98 % - to 32 thousand 540 m. sq., for amenity of passengers.

The system security and management of the new terminal will be also strengthened – there are provided implementation network of air fixed AFTN (in a previous project that was not at all), improving of the information system of passenger service RESA (it will allow to service 2,000 passengers per hour).
