Ukraine and Israel Move toward Free Trade Area Creation
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine and Israel are led successful negotiations on creation of Free Trade Area which will be significantly to enhance trade turnover activation between two countries. This was stated by the Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko at a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman within the frameworks of official visit to the State Israel.
The managers of foreign policy departments of two countries have noted that for nine months after entry into force of the Agreement on a mutual abolition of visas, the amount of the Ukrainians who have visited Israel, and the Israeli citizens who have visited Ukraine, have grown almost twice in comparison with the similar period of last year. In this regard, Kostyantyn Gryshchenko has underlined interest of the Ukrainian side in the decision of formalities on magnification of the number of Ukrainian airline flights to Israel. The heads the Ministries of Foreign Affairs have also discussed other areas of bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Middle East.
During a meeting with the President of Israel Shimon Peres, Kostyantyn Gryshchenko has discussed a course of preparation for the scheduled soon visit to Israel of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich. From his part, S. Peres asked to convey Ukraine's leadership a great appreciation of the Israeli people for that high level on which, in early October of this year, events on the occasion of 70th anniversary of tragedy of Babyn Yar have been carried out in Kyiv.
