OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2011. Fedir Yaroshenko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, has held a meeting with Hartmut Koschyk, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance of Germany, involving Karin Rau, Germany's Economic Delegate to Ukraine. The meeting has considered the current state of Ukrainian-German cooperation, as well as major financial and economic trends of today.

It is worth saying that Ukraine and Germany already have a number of joint projects both parties being glad about how they work. According to Mr. Hartmut Koschyk, German businessmen say about their positive experience of cooperation with Ukrainian politicians and businessmen. He also supported the Ukrainian government’s position to continue cooperation with the IMF.

As Fedir Yaroshenko said, the cooperation between Ukraine and Germany is of great importance for both countries, as Ukraine has made great efforts to stabilize public finance system, and introduces innovative tools in the public sector to improve the investment climate and attractiveness of the domestic economy. As for Germany, it has a leading position in initiatives addressing the volatility of EU financial markets and stabilizing the entire global financial system. In this way, today we have all preconditions to deepen both countries’ mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation.

An important outcome of the meeting has been the German support of Minister of Finance of Ukraine F. Yaroshenko’s initiative to conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany. Both parties emphasized that, having signed, a Memorandum of that kind, we will strengthen cooperation on most urgent issues of budget, tax and customs policy.
